My grandfather was a veteran. My father is a veteran. My sister is a first responder. My father-in-law and uncle were both first responders. I haven't served myself — but I'm surrounded by people who have, and the blue runs through our family's DNA. Service isn't something I read about. It's what I grew up inside of.
That transition period is sacred. The organizations helping people through it — peer support groups, therapeutic sanctuaries, nonprofits serving veterans in recovery — they deserve digital infrastructure that matches the weight of their mission. Not templates. Not generic agency work. Systems built by someone who actually understands the world they're serving.
That's why Steel Blueprint exists. Because I've sat with my grandfather, my uncle, my father-in-law. Because I know what it means to care about someone in that transition. And because most tech agencies will never understand this world the way I do.
I live in Oklahoma. I serve in this community. My wife Taryn runs Red Dirt Apparel right here in Piedmont. We're not vendors flying in from somewhere else — we're neighbors with the people we work for. When I say I get it, I mean it. The color blue isn't just marketing for me. It's family.
The Donation That Started It All
Hoof & Hero Sanctuary — a therapeutic equine program supporting veterans and first responders — needed a digital presence worthy of their mission but didn't have the budget for one. So I built their entire website, app, and digital infrastructure as a volunteer donation. No invoice. Just service.
I still volunteer there — building horse stables, training horses, and advising as their Coordinator of Marketing and Brand Strategy.
The Referral That Proved the Model
The founder of BluPhoenix Support — an Oklahoma peer support organization for first responders — saw the work done for Hoof & Hero and practically begged for an introduction. No sales call. No pitch. Just word of mouth, earned through demonstrated results.
BluPhoenix became our first true external client — a relationship built entirely on trust and the quality of prior work. That's the only way we want to grow.
